Recommendations for completing the review- questionnaire

The anonymity of the reviewer is guaranteed; to do this, one should select "The reviewer wishes to remain anonymous" in the last point of the questionnaire. If the reviewer is not against publishing his name in the heading of the article, it is necessary to choose an alternative item. The responsibility of the reviewer is defined in the section on publication ethics.

Questionnaires are compiled both for the authors so that they can improve their article, and for the editorial board so that it can decide on the publication of the article.

Articles must comply with the Journal’s Policy and the Requirements:

- identify environmental patterns (rules, principles, laws) or discuss methods of their identification;

use scientific methodology (evidence), have a scientific style of analysis and presentation;

- comply with the declared type and volume limitation;

meet the requirements for the design of the text, illustrations, bibliography.

Filling out the questionnaire consists in choosing an item (answer) corresponding to the reviewer's opinion for each question of the questionnaire. Having found inconsistencies with the requirements, logical and factual errors, inaccuracies, ambiguities, the reviewer leaves his comment in the free field of the question.

Style notes are appropriate. However, spelling and syntax errors should not be noted, since a professional proofreader will do it.

If any question of the questionnaire does not have an answer (for example, the question about the quality of illustrations in their absence), one should choose the first answer option.

It is convenient to fill out the questionnaire in one browser window while reading the text of the article in another window. To do this, right-click on the "View article" item in the reviewer's Personal Account and select "Open in a new window" in the context menu. To start filling out the review questionnaire, one should click "Write a review" in the right field of the table. It is convenient to switch between windows using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Tab.

A partially completed questionnaire can be saved for further work by clicking the "Save" button located at the end of the questionnaire. After filling out the questionnaire in full, click on the "Save and send to the editor" button; after that, access to the questionnaire is terminated.

Emerging issues can be discussed promptly with the editors-in-chief in a chat on the journal's website (Column "Discussion" in the table with the article).
